I purchased a 96 and 97 GTX and was looking to see if anyone knows the difference. I'm aware the wiring changed a bit in the fuse box. Not sure if this was stock but the 97 exhaust pipes are white instead of purple. Thanks in advance

Yes

That’s my 97 787

And the MPEM on the 97 has the CDI integrated into it. So it is now more expensive... or valuable...

Where is the oil drain in that pic? Is this something that should be serviced? I'm just running to 2 stroke oil filling it at the tank

There is a small Alan head plug just under the round cover on the left held in with the snap ring. The fill plug is the one with the slot in it on the top.

There is no need to change this on a 787 as oil from the fuel/oil mix supplies it. It is only needed if the ski is swamped and water gets into the engine. Then it should be drained and some oil added.

I have a 97' GTX, confirm the all white exhaust and different ECU/DESS key technology from the 96'.

It says in the specification booklet that the Impeller Pitch for 1996 is 17-25 and the 1997 is 16-23 degrees
