has anyone ever rebuilt a 951 crankshaft on here? is it something that can be done at home with a large press or does it have to be sent out to be done ?
just got an 02 GTX with a failed counterbalance bearing and it wiped out the block and the gear on the crank but the crank is mint. bought it for $350.00 and its so clean and was stored inside its whole life and seriously I kid you not I bought it off a 68 yr old woman and she said it was her baby and was always dealer maintained. it has a brand new top end that is still 100% usable and wasn't touched by the bearing failure. not a rip in the seat, ding in the gel coat, came on a trailer with new tires, new lights, new bearings, new trailer jack and has a trailerable cover included. again I paid only $350.00 for the whole package.
I already have a block, counterbalance shaft and everything else needed to put a motor together for it I just need to either have replace the crank or figure out haw to replace the counterbalance gear on the crank.
thanks

The service manual probably has it in there. There are jigs you slide between yander crank webs. Not a common home rebuild.

You can't do it at home and if it's that clean pony up for an OEM rebuilt crank. I had full access to a full blown machine shop, I don't bore cylinders or do cranks. The time is not worth what places charge for those services.

Yes it is extremely clean. Just hate to throw for a new crank when all this one needs is the gear.
Guess I have no other option tho.
Thanks for the input.
