Can anyone explain to me how the cooling loop works on a 2000 951 xp? I’ve looked at the schematics and shop manual but am still a little confused on how it works. Water runs through the exhaust and around thru some of the ports on the cylinder block? Some insight would be great. Just got mine all put back together and looking for some clarification.

Water flows into the middle of the top of the cylinder from the jet pump. The water then circulates around the cylinders and head then out into the exhaust manifold and into the pipe water jacket then out the back of the ski.

So it’s not abnormal to have water out of the two top (6mm lines I believe) to the side of the ski and out? The bottom like (3/4in?) is a drain line, and the water flows in...where?

Thanks mikidymac

Duh. The water flows through the cylinders and out the exhaust. Sorry. I read your reply and went full dumb mode for a second.

Those 6mm lines are to cool the exhaust, waterbox and let you have a visual sign that water is flowing.
