Hello guys,

I am from Germany and currently on vacation in Florida visiting my father on the Keys. He owns a '95 XP 80 where we rebuild the carbs two years ago. Last year it was running fine, but the weather was to bad to use it. This year i have a new very strange problem where i did not find information how to solve it.
If i start the engine everthing is fine from idle to full throttle, but only for a very short time. If the engine load does exceed a certain point the engine will immediatetly slows down with throttle still opened. If the revs are down its possible to accelerate again, but only for one second, then it revs down again.
It seems like the fuel delivery is completely blocked if the engine load is greater around 50%. If the load is lower the engine runs great. For me this is very strange and i have no idea what to check. Any ideas from the experts here?

Best regards

Carsten

pull the carbs off again, bud, clean the internal filters and install new black fuel line from kragens, autozone..etc. You'll need about 15ft of 1/4in. Replace the fuel line from tank to fuel selector vavle, and from valve to carb. No need to replace the return line from carbs and the vent line.
