So after the VTS and oil update, now for the water test:

Jet Ski ran beautiful after the initial warm up (it vibrated like crazy but I heard that was normal for a little bit).

XP: fired right up on the trailer with one quick push of the button. Once in the water, it took a little imagination to push button and throttle and choke at the same time but I got it going.

It's very sluggish. Bottom end and top end just bogs down. Right in the middle it does ok but I know it's nowhere near what it should be.
I'm going to assume it's an issue with the carbs.
I've rebuilt them (not saying I did everything perfect the first time), replaced the lines, added an inline filter and new selector (which the wife noticed it was on "off" when we got it back on the trailer but neither of us remember turning it on of off), replaced water/fuel O-ring and checked/cleared all the vent lines.
I did not replace the gas (less than a gallon) but added new ethanol free with a Mercury brand, 2 stage cleaner and treatment.
I was hoping it was just an old gas issue but we ran it for around an hour.

I have yet to pull the brand new plugs to check them for color or do a compression test yet.

It seems to top out (in the good part of the throttle) around 20 mph- according to the speedo on the Jetski while pacing her.
It fires right back up without a problem.

I'm thinking I should pull the carbs off again and check the filter inside them. Also a pop off test wouldn't hurt either. \

I'll let you know how all that goes.

One good thing to report- not a drop of water inside the compartment!
I was a little worried about the couple of cracks in the front lower hull and whether or not the bilge components were going to work.

Compression test shows 134-5 for both cylinders.
Plugs are a little wet and brown.

Haven't dissected the carbs yet. I'm hoping I can do that without messing up the new gaskets, etc.

Another issue I just discovered; the VTS is blowing the 7.5 fuse.
I'm not sure when it happened but it didn't seem to work when we were on the water.
I tried it on the trailer just now- just clicking. Pulled the fuse, it was bad.
Replaced it, immediately blows the last remaining 7.5 I have on hand.
I was going to try the replacement module from Minnetonka to see if that changes anything but without a another fuse, it's pointless.

Bought a handful of fuses and set the box up so it's easily accessible while open and hooked up to the battery.

Still popping fuses but narrowed it down to when the nozzle is maxed out in the up or down position.

None of the gauges work so we probably didn't know it was maxed out and blew the fuse early in the ride.

I'm going to research how to get the gauges working but want to know if this is a common problem or a symptom of another issue?

Oh, and the little magnet is in place and I have cleaned the rust off. I even picked up some small metal things off the work bench with it.
