I've been the happy owner of a 95 XP since I bought it new and put on a Factory pipe . I've had 15 years of trouble free use until now except for the fuel gauge which I fixed by putting on a new fuel baffle .
My problem at first was the engine cutting out at speed . Then I had problem with throttle response(after it died on me 1 mile from dock I managed to restart but couldn't get planed out only 2-3 mph) . Spark plugs looked like they were burning lean .
I looked at the fuel delivery trouble-shooting answers on this forum and did the following :
-cleaned fuel filter
-inspected and cleaned fuel tank , baffle , selector valve and all lines . All were clear and clean .
At this point the engine would still turn over and sometimes rev to full throttle but later would not and would only run slow like it did when I intially had the problem
I then dissambled the carbs and cleaned the 2 filters which were a little dirty . After I put everything back together I couldn't get the engine to start . I went through everything again with the fuel lines and carb filters but still couldn't get it to start . The fuel line into the MAG side carb doesn't seem to be picking up fuel out of the tank . Could this be a fuel pump problem ?
