Hi there everyone.
New story=New questions. 1995 Speedster.
Downloaded the Owners Manual. It said Motors should be 657x But I found
717's.
I bought it from a guy on E-Bay who posted here as Wittock08.
He said it had oil up to the choke plates. He also said it wouldn't turn over.
And He pulled off the Jugs and it still wouldn't turn over. starboard engine I should add.
I had some time to work on the boat today and found the wear-ring destroyed
and gravel in the pump. It looked like red clay brick.
I think someone filled the motor with oil to store it, Long-term.
In His post someone told him to put a pipe-wrench on the PTO and turn the motor over, well I guess he wasn't holding the piston when he did this and broke a piston skirt. One more thing to add to the list.
My question is about the wear-rings. I peeled a bunch of black plastic out of the pump and found Blue plastic under it. Is that part of the wear-ring?
Where they made with several layers? Which Rings are the best?
