95 speedster,no tach on 1 motor

where do i start diag?,engine runs fine,tach jumps at first then goes back down to nothing.can i use any kind of tach?

I would start by swapping the wires on the tachs (hook the wires for the left tach on the right and the wires for the right tach on the left) and see if the problems follow the wires or if it stays with the tach this way you know if you have a bad tach or wiring problem.

The luxury of having a twin engine boat. Seems Carlo understands it perfectly. You always have a complete set of spare parts to troubleshoot the broken one with.

I agree. Swap your wires from your good motors tach to the one that is acting up to eleminate either the tach or the wiring......:cheers:
