new to the forum and new to the watersports scene, got a problem with my ski, it runs perfect when i first get it in the water and run it for a bit but seems like when it gets warm it shuts off, anybody know what could be causing this?

1995...almost 15!

The 1995 motor, is it the original? Has it lasted this long without any problems.....

Your info on the problem is pretty generic so, lets look a bit further. You need to look at the plugs, tell us what they look like. Are they both burning even. Then, you'll need to do a compression test.

The second thing is, if you can ride it on a river or creek, anywhere there is calm seas,........with the seat off, do that for a while. You may have an exhaust leak and once you have gone fast enough, you've built up enough CO emissions to suffocate your motor's normal amount of O2 for combustion, the motor shuts down..........

So, there are a couple things you need to look at. If your not familar with what a clean burning spark plug should look like, then click below on my link to "snipes korner" and go to post 4......there you'll find a nice post with pix!.....

check water intake line and blow them out

I bought a used no working yamaha waverunner that had the same problem pulled lines of and found blocked almost completly cleared line and has been running great for two years not sure if this will help but give it a try
