Help Please. '95 Seadoo GTX bogging out at about 38 mph

my friend bought a 1995 sea doo gtx, he took it out for the first time today and on the 1st run had it up to 50 mph with no problems. But on the second, third and forth run he would get it to about 35-37 and it would just die. He could start it back up with no problem and take right off until it got back to 35 mph or so then again it would die. No warning, no bogging out, just died. He checked the spark plugs and they seemed fine, the engine was warm but not hot, not sure what the problem is. Any ideas would be helpful, thank you.

Now a question about my xp?

I now have a question about my ski, it's a 1995 sea doo xp. Today I tore into my electrical box to check the fuses and found one that was burnt, not only burnt but melted. I've never seen a fuse burn like this, was hoping maybe someone could tell me what caused it and do I have a serious problem going on?

well on friends issue, does he still have the original fuel lines, check and get back to me,they will be grey with black writing on them.this is a common issue and iv seen it about 300 times

Yeah bud he has the original fuel lines, he's thinking it might be the rev limiter. And was it my fuse that you were saying is pretty common?

i can assure you its not the rev limiter,he will have to replace all of the fuel line in the ski.also change the main fuel filter up front as well as the tiny one located inside the carb(s).if i need to go into more detail just let me know.as far as your issue did the problem reacure with the fuse?

As far as your buddies ski I had the same problem this year. Ran great the 1st time out not problems. The 2nd time would not go over 40 and was dying. I changed all the fuel lines, selector, and the filter in the carb and took it back to the lake Sunday and it ran great all day. Once you pull the fule lines off you will see why it gets so stopped up.

Thank you bud, both of you. My friend replaced all the fuel lines like you said... he decided to cut into one, cause the ends looked clear and thats when he found the black rubber coating that had pretty much deteriorated over the years. He also cleaned both fuel filters, the tiny one in the carb was 3/4's packed with the same black stuff. We haven't gotten to take them out yet but are heading out on Monday for a three day camping trip. We're pretty sure that that will have solved the problem, I'll give an update when we get back. but thanks again for all of your help.

Those fuel lines cause so much trouble, it amazes me you still have them, be sure to clean those little carb filters or you will have med/high speed leanout overheating the piston till it melts.

No problem, hope it runs well for you.......Make want to take the selector off as well and make sure there is nothing stopping it up. Very easy to do and would be worth it.
