95 GTX RMPs

As the title says I have a 95 GTX and I'm loooking to check the RPM's on it. I know I need to get a tachometer or multivolt tool to do this. Is there a certain brand I should use thats specifically made for 2-stroke engines? I've been to a couple automotive stores but none of them have "testers" for 2-stroke engines. Sorry for the newbie question but I just want to get this thing going for the up coming weekend.

You don't need a tach. In the water the ski should idle along at about 3-4 MPH.

a tach that can giver you RPM's, on a wire that fires twice per revolution will work for you.

I use a optical tach on the flywheel.

Thank you dr. honda. I know its a stupid question but ive never checked rpms in a 2 stroke.
