'95 GTX Problems.. HELP

Greetings all,

I know it is time to upgrade to a newer model but I am having trouble with my 1995 Sea-Doo GTX PWC... After I had brought it out of storage a year ago, I fired it up and it took a long time to start.. It wanted to start but wouldn't.. I eventually took it to the dealer who winterized it and when we got it to start it did nothing but shoot oil out the jet drive... We took out the plugs and it was shooting oil out the plug ports... I have 2 theories on the matter but want some more opinions on what could be wrong with it.. The dealer (who is also a pretty good friend) thinks it could be a crack in the crank-shaft seal or when we winterized it we put wayyyy too much oil in it and havn't got the majority of it out yet...

Anyone with input or expirience in this field, PLEASE HELP ME!!!!

ok; these motors don't have crankcase oil in them. there is oil in the rotary valve drive gear area, but there is very little chance of getting any volume of oil from there into the business end of the motor. the oil you are blowing out is the oil you put in. you do NOT wanna spray carb cleaner or pour gasoline into plugs and crank. you will have big clouds of flammable stuff blowing out. run the starter with plugs out a few seconds at a time. put plugs in. try to start. pull plugs. all oily. crank some more. clean plugs. (now use carb cleaner to clean plugs). put em in try again. might take a few or ten trys, but u will get it to fire. long as u have plugs out and are cranking, go get a $25 compression tester from the local chain auto parts store and see what your top end is like.

Sounds like you are on the right track with your 2 theories bad crank seals will show up after storage from what I have read they will fill crankcase with oil. Good luck Robin

Thank you for the input and suggestions... We pulled the plugs and turned it over a couple times and it continued to shoot oil out the spark plug ports... We tried this for about an hour and there was still oil shootin out... Im not too sure if its time for a new jet-ski or take this one to someone else and have them attempt to fix it... Its a never ending problem
