95 GTS Rotary Valve Timing without a timing wheel???

Well I pulled the manifold off to do a carb job and the valve came with it. So can I install it without the timing wheel? Can I make one? It is a 587 motor.

I know I need to have the mag cylinder at TDC.

I would like to get this ski fired this weekend, but it does not look good

Last one I timed,I googled the seadoo timing piks n printed it,,then just cut the center out

A lot of the 587's had the mark scribed onto the rotary valve face on the crankcase , yes I know you should use a degree wheel but if you have the front cylinder at TDC and line up the rotary valve with the scribed mark it will work.
