94 xp carb rebuilt now idles at 4k

94 xp carbs rebuilt now won't run

94 xp I bought this thing not running. New starter new batt. rebuilt carbs and replaced fuel lines, clean filter and fuel selector switch. Got it to run for a short while but would surge and idle at 4k in the driveway. I thought the pulse line was pinched so I put a small loop in it so it wasn't kinked now not getting fuel is this because of the loop in the pulse line? Also is water supposed to come out of the piss hole in the back with the hose hooked up? I have water coming out of the hole opposite of the hull plug but not much from the pisser.

Just rebuilt both carbs, square pump style, and now the thing idles at around 4k and seems to want to keep going. What would cause this? Also when you are running it off the hose to the barb on the head is water supposed to come out the pee hole in the back? It is just coming out of a larger hose opposite of the hull plug hole.

And now it won't stay running will run for a very short time then slowly idles down and dies.

You probably have the hoses mixed up. Double check every thing.

As far as the pee-hole... if it's on a hose... there isn't much pressure, so you may not get much there.

My 95 xp just did the same thing. I just got it fixed 2 days ago. Get your pop off tested. Mine was way low and it would idle a little high at first then idle fine and sputter and die. Changed the spring and it works great.
