I just bought a 1994 sea doo SP 580. When you first start out it rips but after 30 second it starts to lose power until its hardly moving. But if you let it sit and idle for a few seconds then hit hit the throttle it rips again for about 30 second and then same thing again. Or if you shut it off for a minute and start it back up it rips then loses power. It acts like its not getting enough gas. I changed the fuel filter and plugs. The plugs were light brown. Ive heard people mention bad things about grey fuel line. Mine has that grey line. Should I change it? Any ideas would be helpful

Change all the grey fuel lines. (30ft hose and 30 hose clamps at auto parts store) Remove fuel selector valve and clean. It is clogged. Remove the carbs, disassemble carefully and clean with carb cleaner. Make sure you clean the crap out of the internal fuel filters/screens. They will be "full of it.":lols: Sorry couldn't help it. Re-assemble and fire that bad boy up.

I have the same model, and its doing the exact same thing. I cleaned the selector valve and changed all the fuel lines and cleaned the carb. I hope you figure out what the problem is. I have had no luck
