Hi Everyone...first time posting to this board...

I just bought my first PWC. I picked up a 94 GTX from a guy pretty cheap. So If I cant do any of the repairs, I will part it out, no big deal.

He told me it needs the shaft seal replaced? I am assuming he is talking about the carrbon seal??

This is a so-so pic of the shaft where it enters the hull...

I can see a visibly worn component where it meets the fiberglass. Is that the carbon seal?

And from reading here on these forums, I'm assuming that the rubber boot or cover with the hose clamps, is supposed to completely cover the fiberglass, and not be pushed back towards the flywheel??

Can someone PLEASE offer instructions on how to replace this seal? Keep in mind that it is my first ski, so be gentle with me when it comes to inside jargon ;-)

I really appreciate the help!!!

Your ski has NO carbon seal, It has a carrier bearing. Pull the jetpump to replace it.
Check the JP wear-ring clearance while its out. Newbie, have a pro rebuild it (about
$125) buy the bearing and DYI R & R. You've saved $$$$$ Bills86e Enjoy!
