Put some premix in a bottle and spray it into the carbs as you crank. This will do three things. Lubricate the cylinders, raise the compression, and provide fuel if that is the issue. If it tries to start. You at least know what direction to head.

I'm sure you have Grey Tempo fuel lines. They will need changed as well as clean the carbs and fuel selector. But this will get you in a direction at least.

Thanks for reply....also what is ore-mix..? and yes do have the grey lines

Typo. Was meant to be premix. (Oil and gas)

On a flight, will expand why the Grey Lunes MUST be change when I land.

Pre-Mix = oil mixed with gas at a 40:1 ratio (oil:gas). The oil provides the lubrication in 2-strokes. In your case, I may go to 32:1 as it has been sitting too long.

As an alternative, I can save you a ton of headaches and hop in the truck and pick the ski up from you!! j/k
Welcome to the forums. These guys are smart and will be able to help you get it runnin.

I'm on a flight as well!! The grey lines aka Tempo lines start deteriorating over time and put green gunk into the carbs and plug things up (the lines can be completely plugged themselves and may be why you are not getting any fuel). You will need to clean the filters out in the carbs at a minimum to insure none of the gunk made its way there.

i did what coastiejoe said put the premix in carb ...fired right up..it just want stay running...keep feeding it gas and it run...how do you get those funking clamps off the fuel lines..they are corroded a little at connection..can you just replace with standard auto fuel lines and use regular clamps....you think needle valve is stuck to...hmmm

thanks Pride...i disconnected all 3 fuel lines at carb..and no gas comes out..should it or not till you crank it. Not sure how the fuel system works fuel filter was about 1/4 fuel maybe not much gas in the filter at all...

You should be able to suck fuel through the line from the tank. Your best bet is to change the lines and clean the filters.

Welcome to the site; lotsa good info here and a bunch of great people to help.

Get a shop manual, here if premium member or elsewhere on web.

I just happen to have a 94 GTS in my driveway waiting to bubble up on the project list.

One fuel line is supply, another is return to fuel tank. The third line is the pulse line to the fuel pump on the carb; this connects to the bottom of the engine case to supply a pulse to operate the fuel pump as the engine turns over. Must not leak else fuel pump will not work; 1/4 in auto fuel line works.

Be sure to test while selecting normal and reserve via fuel selector (which commonly goes bad).

Unless you have developed a taste for gasoline, I have found the vacuum tool for bleeding brakes works good to test for flow/leaks by hooking it to the fuel supply line where it connects to the carb. You should see bubbles going into the vacuum tool reservoir if there is a leak.

This should get you started. Have fun and good luck.

You could have a fuel pump issue, carb issue, diaphragm issue,,,

But,, until the lines are replaced, fuel selector is replaced or SUPER cleaned, carbs gone through and cleaned (including the plastic internal filters), nothing much else matters.

They are engine killers and cause serious engine running issues.

I still think you should let me come and pick it up :)

Seriously, change the lines and clean the filters and I bet you have a good running ski.

Ok I replaced all the grey lines 19 ft to be exact....cleaned the fuel selector real good...and fuel filter above the tank...poor gas in carb runs fine..but then dies.no gas is sucking to carb, the fuel filter above tank is dry..if the carb is stopped up will it still pump fuel to the carb when it's running?

Pride you can come to tn and help me work on it....lol....I need this running in 2 days and need help..I didn't pull the tank just drained it,,,old fuel lines didn't looked stopped up put corroded on outside and sticky.all holes on top of tank were clear....looks like carb is hard to get one nut off on throttle side..didn't want to mess with it but looks like I need to...any help I need bad....Help

Did you remove and clean the carbs? Or the plastic filters INSIDE the carbs? Al lthe crap in the Grey Tempo lines plugs up ANY place it can stick. Fitting, unions, valves. and in the carbs, Needle and Seats, the tube the line slides on, and the filters inside the carbs.

No it has just one carb...one nut hard to get to....what's the best way to take it off. Or to get to that one nut

Welcome to working on these motors. Get an extra hinge in your wrist, that seems to be a requirement. You may need a half wrench, a bent wrench, or a combination of all 3.

Can't help you with the removal as I have never done one. But,,, I can tell you that it NEEDS to be done. The goo in the lines gets at every joint and connection. Very good odds the needle and seat are plugged as well as the main inlet nipple.

Grey Tempo lines are a hassle, but all of what we have told you MUST be done. If you do any less, you will continue to have issues in most cases...

ok i got carb off and took apart and cleaned everything.filter just a little dirty overall carb look greatt inside and diaphram to..i took the selector switch aprt again ..its clear..the pulse house you fill some suction when you turn engine over to...i put air to all thress hoses that go to tank and fuel comes back up pouring out....but it still will not pump the fuel to the carb....im lost now .....anymore suggestions

On the 587 single carb motors, I like to pull the butterfly off of the carb to get to the nut on the right hand side (I think that's the one your talking about) just make sure you put the nut back on after removing the butterfly, otherwise the spring will pop off.

I'd say bypass the fuel system to verify pump operation. Keep the pulse line hooked up, and run two temporary lines to a jar/gas tank, If you're not getting fuel, check the pump again. Also, did you pull the baffle from the tank and make sure the two lines inside the baffle are good?

i already put carb back on....and no i did not pull tank when i replace all the fuel lines i just put air to the lines and boy the fuel comes pouring back out the lines that attach to the fuel selector...do you put both lines in the jar...wh at do ya mean check the pump again....the pulse coming out of carb is just mild sputter dont know how strong it s supposed to be....thanks very much for info...everyone has been a great help
