Hey guys, I just got a seadoo a few weeks ago and have been trying to get it to work properly. Right now my problem is when I accelerate it runs perfectly until about 1/2 throttle then after that it actually decreases in power. I cant usually get it above 4000rpms. Any idea how to fix it? I am trying to figure out how to get the carbs out but I cant find an easy with to remove them without taking the whole motor out.

Thanks,
Kyle

Sorry I forgot to include. The compression is 143 and 148. The plugs were fowling slightly but I adjusted the low speed screws and now they look about right.

Did you replace the fuel lines or were they black when you got the ski? You could check the fuel selector valve, main filter, fuel pickup. But you probably need the carbs. rebuilt.

I honestly don't have an answer about removing the carbs. I don't recall how tight the clearances are. I would suggest downloading a service manual for your ski, you can get one for free if you get a premium membership.

Also you can PM Dr. Honda or Seadoosnipe for help.

They were black when I got it. I have checked the fuel filter and it looks perfect. I can check the other two tomorrow. I own two different manuals but neither say how to get it unscrewed they just say take these bolts out. I guess I will keep working at it.

The carbs are usually the main problem causing this otherwise fuel line problems. My problem was actually the breather line going into the fuel tank. Its on the inside of the storage bin cover. The cover wasn't lining up with the vent hole. I had to remove some foam and the ski is running perfect! Check that first since its a quick fix otherwise I would say your problems are most likley just needing a cleaning in the carbs and fuel lines.
