i just got this 89 seadoo from my uncle. it sank cause a seal was leakin about a year ago and has sat since. i got it from him and trying to fit it up. i took the heads off and it looks pretty good other than a litttle corrosion that im sure i can just sand down. but my biggest problem i believe is inside the box on top of the battery. the solinoid deffinitly needs replaced, and it looks like a computer chip on top of that? is it gonna cost an arm and a leg to get one of those? im planing on rebuilding it so im gonnna take the whole engine apart obviously. but what else should i look at for damage before i get to far into it?

I would remove the gas tank, clean it and the WHOLE delivery system, read up
on posts about carburetor maintenance, pull the starter apart & clean it. Open
the stator cover and see if water got in there, pull flywheel if it did, & clean.
I advise you to read the mantenance section of your manual. It will explain parts
and has pics. It will tell you what "wear ring" is, and tuning it up or just diagnosing.
Then you can ask us old SALTY DOGGs how to!!!!!! Oh, use BR8ES plugs gaped
.021. WE may even need to Ask YOU about something as not many 89's.
