Can a 1999 RFI motor be easily swapped to carbed ? Is it simply a matter of unbolting the throttle body and installing the carbs or is there more too it?
I guess I should explain. I have a carbed 1999 speedster that needs a new motor and I have found a 1999 RFI gsx for a decent price that I could use the motor
There is a bunch of stuff different on those engines. BUT... if you have both systems, and all the parts... I'm guessing you could make it work. As far as giving you a guide on what's involved.... Can't really do that since it's generally just easier to get the right engine.
that is the answer i was looking for .....thanks. i wanted to make sure the block, cylinders, and the major internals were compatible without stripping the block completely apart and replacing key components. This is still true?
