Damn, looking at the weather forcast tommorow for central Alabama its supposed to hit 80*. Just this past Sunday we got hit with a freak snow storm, 5 days later its 80*. To bad my boat is still land locked for a few more weeks. No worries though, Louis and I are gonna whip it in to shape soon enough! In the mean time i've got several projects to help pass the days.

I wouldnt doubt that at all! If mine were fit, it would be hitched to my truck and full of fuel waiting on day break in the morning.

you so bad...

You so bad timmyboy...teasing like that. You know that ain't fair. But, now that you mention it, I'm a little further south than nautiquelfe so the temps will be even warmer.....

Nah, I wish I could but it's been really busy, getting ready for shutdown. I work 12 hour days during shutdown with 1 day off thru the week (6 day week), so no fun for me till at least the end of March and possibly, into April.

yeah supposed to be 79 here sat. and sun. i think i am going to clean my boat tomorrow and work on my stero and get out on the water on sunday. last weekend with the snow was the first weekend of the year i was not able to get in the water:( (I like for it to be at least 55 to get on the water)

OK OK rub it in.
We "northerners" stills have snow and ice:ack:
Take some photos so we can enjoy your time on the water.
I could put the doo on the Hudson since it will be in the 60s today and tomorrow. Oh crap, I forgot I have to finish the bathroom remodel and keep the boss(wife) happy:cheers:

Got beer and sodas in the truck, battery fully charged, wife is putting on makeup, whatever for...

Heading out in minutes to "de-winter-ize" our boat.

Wish us luck!

Hudson?...

Hmmmm, the only time I saw the Hudson was on T.V. when that jet crash landed on it. Seems I remember seeing ice blocks floating down it too. I don't know if I'd take a chance out there, WOT with ice blocks hanging around.

As for being in the south.....you might have fun but personally, I have to wait for the water temps to come up a bit. Even on a nice day, the colder temps on the water seem to generate cold air that hangs low on the water. So, when you go to WOT, the air is cold. I still wear a jacket on the river...yeah, call me a sissy if you want to.:svengo:

Maybe your part of of Ontario. Up here in Ottawa we still got tons of it. It is melting away slowly though. Hopefully it will all be gone by the end of March!

Spent about 5hours cleaning the boat up today. She's looking really good. I tried the 10:1 chlorox:water for the black spots on my vinyl. Then went to about 8:1 still no luck. I gave up for the day and put some leather/vinyl conditioner on them to get it looking nice. Need to get a snake or something to clear out my drainage tubes tommorow. Hope everyone else had a nice day.

Westleys Bleche White , A soft brush and it works every time . It is less than $3 for a spray bottle
Do not let it dry on it ,
Spray it on , Rub it in , Rinse it off. Seems to get off anything but rust .
Available in the automotive section every where , Wally World , target , etc.

Bleach?...

When I mentioned the diluted bleach, I believe I said there isn't an immediate change. Your spots were mildew. The wipe down of the tops of the seats with the diluted bleach will kill the mildew. The next day, you could have come out and those spots would be gone (the bleach kills it). They still may be, but since you covered it with the conditioner, I don't know what the outcome will be.

Westley's is basically the same thing. The most important thing is like he said,....do not let it dry on them. I don't use the store brands because of the concentration. For new boats, the vinyl is stronger and more durable. It will take the stronger bleach. But, the older models like my 1997 Challenger has seat covers that are well worn. They still look nice, but they are pretty old.......

Just got back home. Boat ran great. 30 mph winds, but it wasn't too bad down on the river, as long as you weren't on a north-south facing stretch for too long.

Even took a couple of crappy videos of me taking of in the boat so I could count how long it takes to plane it out with the new swirl impeller.

Pic of the river where we were...Keep in mind the 30 mph winds, and see how it was affecting it here where the river was taking a west-east bend.

I was afraid to leave the bleach on for to long as the vinyl seemed pretty hard to start with. After a the conditioner and sunshine they have suppled up alot. I'll strip the residue off of it tommorow and give the chlorox another go. I think this time i'll try a tooth brush. Most of the really small spots are gone, and the larger ones are thinning out. Another treatment or two and it may be ok!
All together it was a nice day working on it. Almost slipped a few times, praying that hydroturf discounts some sheets of red or light grey soon :)! May try to wax the rear hatch tommorow. Thanks for the tips everyone.

believe it or not those mr. clean magic eraser's work great; took the mold and mildw right off the vinal on my pontoon boat

Yeah - I was just dreaming. There are still ice blocks floating around.
I will always wear a life jacket when I run the doo, I don't care if I'm on a river or a lake.
I always wear a life jacket when I am alone on the big boat too, never can be too safe.

You are killing me, I just stopped working on the bathroom.
It is beer o'clock for me now!!!!

Beer-o-clock was back around 10 am for me. Now, we are back home in the hot tub and it is vodka-and-coke o-clock...:reddevil:

Hold up. Before you start ranting, I only had 3 beers in 4 hours while on the boat, then drove the hour home and NOW am starting to imbibe.

It is not like I am getting sloshed on the water and trying to drive home...:ack:

I wouldn't have been sloshed, I'd have been trashed! You'd have thought I was a lush after those 3 beers!.....Here's one for the road
