787 oil pump bleeding

Ok I have a 97 gtx 787 and I cannot bleed the oil line.

I have replaced all of the oil lines for peace of mind.

There is oil in the two small lines that feed into the rotary cover but I have two bubbles in the bigger supply line that has the filter in.

I have a full tank of oil and have unscrewed the bleed screw. The oil is flowing from the screw but the bubbles are not filling up. The bubbles do move but they still remain.

I keep googling it and everything says to do exactly what I have already done.

Any help would reaaaaly be appreciated.
 
When you do anything with the oil pump you should open the bleeder screw until oil flows out which you did then to fill the lines you hold the valve open with your hand (Turn counter clock wise if you are facing the handle bars) and the lines should fill completely

Give that a try it should work perfect

Ok so the oil has flowed out and I put the bleed screw back in. Then hold the valve open?

Also even tho oil has flowed out I still have air in the supply line.
 
Yea bleeder screw open and the bubble is still there. Tried leaving it open for a while and its not filling it at all.
 
Close the bleeder screw hold the pump open and see if you can get it to clear. Don't let it run long at all to be safe I always throw a little two stroke in the gas
 
Yea I have mixed 2 stroke in the take for now until I'm happy its fully bled. Should I do that with the engine running then?
 
Yes close the bleeder screw start the engine and hold the oil pump butterfly open. DO NOT INCREASE THE THROTTLE
 
Ok I thought that only worked for the two smaller lines. I will give it a try tomorrow and let you know how I get on
 
That method is for the smaller lines but if its not getting the air out of the feed line using the bleeder then trying this might work.

What type of hoses did you use for the oil lines?

Are you sure all of the fittings are tight? Because if they are not it will cause this problem
 
I just used clear oil lines of the correct ID. I will go over my connections to make sure they are all tight then.
 
I guess the routing of the oil line might be causing the air bubble to be trapped, the shape must be in a "U" instead of a "W" so air must either return to your tank or float up into the oil pump inlet so you can burp the air using the bleeder screw.

If there are air bubble in the oil pump inlet that can POSSIBLY result in oil pump cavitation and it's not worth risking. The alternative work-around is to mix a partial tank of fuel+oil and ride to see if the air bubble is worked out. Opening the pump valve while idling should add a bunch of oil thus show up as extra smoke, this tells you the oil injection is pumping oil and injecting into the intakes.
 
Ok so I've had her running on the hose whilst holding the pump lever at fully open. I'm getting more smoke but th bubble will not go. Have a look at this pic and let me know if you think it looks wrong.

 
Well, first of all, what oil are you using? It doesn't look like the correct oil. I can't recommend strongly enough to use the BRP full synthetic oil. Others use Quicksilver full synthetic and some use Amsoil full synthetic but it has to be the correct oil or the engine won't last very long.

Secondly, did you loosen or open the oil fill cap under the hood? With the cap open and the bleeder screw loosened, that bubble should go away quickly.
 
It I a fully synthetic pwc oil purchased from a pwc shop. Those oils don't seem to be as readily available here in the UK. Oil cap off, bleed screw out, bubble doesn't move. I see a trickle of oil flow from filter to the bubble but it just remains the same size.
 
What does the rating say on the bottle? Is it a TCW approved oil?

The bubble has to move as fluid flows out unless your filter is clogged up.
 
Its a brand new filter on it. Yea it says tc-w3. Is that any good? Its really bugging me now I cant seem to shift this bubble.
 
DO NOT RUN TWC-3 in a seadoo. You need either xps-2 or an equivalent jt4 full synthetic such as

Great looks like I'm draining the tank then. Its a motul pwc 2 stroke oil. I will drain it and get some quicksilver oil as this seems like the easiest of the three to get hold of. Thanks for the heads up on that one. When I refill with the good stuff I will let you know how I get on bleeding it.

Out of interest what is the problem with the tc-w3?
 
Basically the engine wasn't designed for twc3. It doesn't lubricate properly and doesn't burn clean enough clogging the rave valves up
 
Ok fortunately the engine has just done 2 hours since full rebuild so should have caught this before any issues.
 
k,,the bubble is hydraulically trapped. take the oil line off,below the filter,VERY SLOWLY,as the line comes away from the filter(do not take the line completely away from the filter lip) ,oil will go into the line,and the "air bubble" will go away.
