can anyone tell my how to take off the i guess its the harmonic balancer its where the shaft goes in to the moter i have one that feels like the teeth are a little ground off and want to change it out but i cant get it off do you pull it off dose it unscrew? do you need a tool??

Pull the head off , put a small towel or rag in the cylinder Bolt the head back on , use a large pipe wrench to loosten the (PTO) that you call the harmonic ballancer ,It unscrews from the shaft counter clockwise like a normal nut
Spray PB Blaster in the shaft hole if stuck and let sit .
 
use either cylinder, but make sure its ABOVE the exhaust ports.
I put some rope down the spark plug hole, about 12in (depend'n how thick of rope ur using), then proceed to turn motor counterclockwise til the pistonis compression the rope into the head. Then get urself a pipewrench, remove the zert fitting,and turn the "PTO"(harmonic balancer) til she spins off..
