I've been struggling with diagnosing my 787. It happily runs on the PTO cylinder but for some reason will not fire on the mag. Motor has good, even compression, clean carbs/fuel system, and is getting spark on both cylinders (reversing the wires produces the same result, PTO fires, mag does not). The mag cylinder is now nice and clean due to all of the fuel washing. I'm curious if I should start to consider RV timing at this point or perhaps the crank is out of time. It revs freely on that rear cylinder but once in the water if obviously won't do much above a fast idle carrying a dead cylinder. Any input would be appreciated!
