720 to 887 swap

Can you put the 887 engine into a 2000 GTI with a 720? Do the motor mounts line up? I am assuming the electronics will need to be changed. Seems like it would would make sense since the Earlier GTX had the 887 with the same body style.

Mounts exhaust electronics all different.

It's actually 787, not 887. But would be a big job to swap all.

Ok, what about older models with the smaller engines.... can they be swapped to 720's without changing mounts exhaust and electronics?

Yes usually the yellow 587 has some different electronics but most u can do the swap. Mpems will all work and that. If u had a bad engine in an old ski and had a 717 why not put it in. 717 were made long time and so we're 587. The 657 had the short span of just a few years but 657 and 717 are super close to the same thing.
