Ok,, new problem,,,,I'm doing a top end job on one motor,,,,but I cant get the wrist pins out of the piston. i did remove the "c"clips,,,but the wrist pin isnt releasing,,,, anyone have a trick to do this so I can swap out the pistons? Thanks for any advise. ksh1964@aol.com

if its a rusty old motor, heat up the piston with a propane torch(alot) around where the wrist pin inserts, then use a deep well socket and hammer. Take care not to bend the rod too much, I would try to support it on the opposite side you are hammering.

thanks keith,,,I tried "tapping " the pin out today,, didnt want to lean on it to much,,, but I guess it wasnt enough. Most of the old dirt bike motors i did came out pretty easily, but thats probly why they kept breaking piston skirts i guess. I'm gonna soak it pretty heavily with CRC or something and maybe even heat it if i have to. I still only have the back seat bottom back from the upholstery shop,,, waiting for the back rest still, jonesing for a ride last weekend and the right engine stopped running ,,,,,so here we go......
