So I split the case so that I can replace both the mag and pto seals. This is the first time I ever messed with the lower end so I want to make sure I put it back together correctly.
First off, is there any particular way the crankshaft is supposed to put back in the case? I know that some of the bigger engines have pins that prevent the bearing from rotating
When I put the new seals on, do I put Loctite on the outer edge of the seals?
What do I use to seal the two crankcase halves together? I'm kind of lost on this one. The shop manual says something about Loctite Primer N and I don't know what that does.
Where exactly do I put anti seize? The manual says crankshaft bearing seat, but what is that.

Make sure you put some grease on the seal lips before they go in the crank. THe seals go in the cases dry.
FOr the case halves I like threebond 1184 which is the same as Hondabond, Yamabond or Permatex Motoseal. Others prefer 1211. Just don't use RTV silicone.

THe bearing seat is for new bearings for start up lube but plain old 2 stroke oil is prefered.

Once you apply the case sealant be thorough but quick. Have everything ready and where it needs to be. That stuff sets quickly. Don't put too much on the gasket surface either. Good Luck !!
