From the not so great pics, everything looks good. Very normal carbon build up on the pistons and nice color. You need to look closely at the cylinder wall for scratches, pits, etc. If everything looks good and it was running fine with low hours before the failure and it wasn't run too long after the failure, then you don't need to pull the pistons out, just clean everything up. If you pull the pistons, mark each cylinder and the direction to the exhaust with an arrow. The advantage is you can inspect the crank rod bearings as well but the disadvantage is that you'll need new rod bolts since they are stretch bolts.
A full history would help us understand why the motor is out in the first place including what failed and how long was it run after the failure especially if it is sc ceramic washer failure.
