4k rpms in water 7k on trailer...now 0

Some of you may have read a recent problem I had. 4k max rpms on the water. Thx again for those of you who helped. After 2 months of working on this thing, I thought I would actually have some fun with the boat. Today on the water when I got up to around 3k the motor stalled. The other one stayed running. I restarted the motor. Fired up ..no problem. Tried to accelerate again and around 2.5-3.5k rpms it stalled again. I could not restart the motor. Now when trying to start it, it makes one clunk sound. I never had a problem with the starter. I think The noise comes from the mag side of the motor. Somewhere low by the starter. ANY THOUGHTS OR SUGGESTIONS ON WHERE TO START??? THANKS
