4-wire DESS post

I have an '04 Seadoo GTI. The DESS Post is 4 wire(if this is the right DESS post for this ski) From what a can gather the black wire with the purple stripe is the extra. I am putting this ski back together and the previous owner said the DESS post was bad but I think he had the wrong key and I want to ckeck it for myself.I have the DESS post/harness out of the ski and was wondering is someone can walk me through a continuity test to check the health of this thing. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Yes, it's a 4 wire system. Here's the continuity test.

lanyard off-black to black/yellow...open circuit; lanyard on-black to black/yellow...closed circuit
white/gray to center terminal on post...closed circuit
black to terminal ring on post...closed circuit
