4-tec oil consumption

06' GTX-SC.. new to me, has 62 hours now.. Changed oil since previous owner had synthetic in it.. It will run 62mph and sounds good, no smoke but I did have to add a half a qt. of oil after 12 hours of operation.. Is this considered "normal" for this engine? or do I need to start investigating.. Also bought an 06' normally aspirated GTX for the wife, in the same amount of hours hers used maybe 4 oz. of oil. Hoping to make it through the summer before a SC rebuild on mine.

4TECS typically use very little oil, if any, between services. What kind of oil are you using?

Castrol 10-40 dino oil in the SC GTX and sea-doo brand synthetic in the normally aspirated one

i have 2005 gtx 155 does not use any oil between changes once a year

It is probably using oil just because its been sitting around alot. I wouldn't worry about it too much. It will probably fix itself but keep an eye on the dipstick in the meantime.
