4 tec Crank and balancer shaft Thrust washer locations

I pulled apart a 4 tec engine for the first time last fall and I am just now starting to put it back together so 5 months have passed and with it my memory as to where the thrust washers go. I thought that the two large ones went on one location on the crankshaft (360 degrees around) and the same with the smaller set on the balancer shaft. But when I look at the picture in the manual it looks like they show the two larger thrust washer going in two different locations on the crankshaft and two smaller ones going in two different locations on the balancer shaft. So they would only cover 180 degrees around each shaft. Which is it and if it is two different locations, do they go in the lower half or the upper half of the crank housing?

I am sure this is an easy question for anybody who has taken a few of these engines apart. Thanks for your help on this.

Warmer weather is coming soon (I hope) here in the northeast so it is time to put the sleds away and start thinking about the summer toys. :)

They both go in the upper half(the side with the cylinders which is lower half while you're assembling the motor), one on each side of the crank journal between the number 1 and 2 cylinders. The side with the hook fits in the larger notch side, one on each side but opposite direction. It's the exact same for the cb shaft, both go in the upper half. They have to be rotated around so they sit completely in that side of the block so make sure they sit flush as the other side of the block is what traps them in place. Be careful rotating the crank because these will rotate out of position.

It's pretty simple but if you can't figure it out I have a block with a crank in it on my bench right now so I could take a picture.

Thanks Ski-d00 for the reply. That is exactly what I was looking for. I guess I should of figured that my memory was wrong and not the manual. No pictures needed. Think summer!!
