Absolutely normal. It's letting you know the DESS is still on the post which, if you aren't going to start the motor for a while, is not the way to keep it. With it on the post, it's like having the key in your car in the on position (the position the key turns to after you have started your engine, not the accessory position,) without starting it.
Power is running to the coils and fuel pump, ready to start the motor. Leaving it that way will both flatten your battery quicker and potentially stuff a number of things, or at least wear them out a whole lot faster.
