another problem....took my 96 gsx out today ran great all day till the last ride..i was at half throttle when it just sounded like it wanted shut off i pumped the throttle a couple of times and caught itself but the two seconds later it died..hard to restart i had to give wot to start, when i got it to start if i didn't stay below 3000 rpms it would die but then if i kept below 3000 rpms for a while it would die unless i pull the choke quickly and pump the throttle, i had to constantly do this, finally i just got aggravated and let it die and got towed in. I put it on the trailer and i wanted to see what it would out of the water, it started up and ran great i revved it up to 7000 rpms and then let it idle...???? in the water in ran like garbage out of the water ran like a top...whats the problem because its running great now but i dont wanna get stuck again if it begins to do it again.

Sounds like its starving for fuel, the ski will use more fuel under load, thats why it runs O.K. on the trailer.

Have you changed the grey hose? Fuel filters, selector switch?

Lou

No the grey hoses are still there...i think fuel selector switch is good because i when i turn it off it will run for about 2 min. and the shut off. But the grey lines and filters i have not done yet.
