Hi all,

I'm new here and hope someone can help me out. I have a unique ECU problem. The problem is that I don't have one. Some low life snuck onto the boat and stole my ECU from the motor. Can't believe it.

In any event, I'm trying to keep the costs down in replacing it. Does anyone know if the brucato ACU will work on this YR 2000 motor? I don't see a vacuum line hanging around on the motor.

Also, the parts diagram show a water sensor module. That is attached to the ECU and seems to be missing as well. Where does that plug in? Is it's function to sense water in the bilge?

Thanks for any help you can provide!

Man that sucks. who would steal an ECM???????:ack:

This fellow has an ECM for sale that should work for your boat. As far as the water sensor, mine hangs off the very rear starboard side of the engine, and it senses water pressure in the block, not water in the bilge.

Water sense module

I have a 240 EFI M2 and the water sense module connects to the connector on the bottom of the water separation filter. It's the thing that looks like a car oil filter. When the water separation filter fills with too much water it tells the ECU. I think it's a blue wire.

Brucato ACU

When I was trouble shooting my Challenger 2000 last month I contacted Brucato about their ACU and they don't do jet boats. The MAP sensor is inside the ECU and there is a small vacuum hose that connects to the engine. The hose is attached to the ECU and doesn't come off. It's hard to see but there is a small intake manifold vacuum hose port that the ECU MAP hose connects too.

I have one.
650$ + ups charge

water sense module too

Sounds like he will need the water sense module too. It is mounted at the bottom of the ECU. It connects to the water separator at the bottom.

wont start speedester

HI I have a 2000 speedester 240 efi. It wont start but it has fire to the plugs but it does not seem to be getting any fuel.If you pour some fuel into the plug holes it runs till the fuel gone. What pulses the injectors.I dont know if I need some kind of oil pressure or crank senor or something that have no idea what it might need to see to turn on the injectors on.Thanks for any help.PS I took all the injectors out and cleaned them and they seem fine.So I dont have a clue.I do change the high pressure pump an have 36lbs at the regulator.

Sounds like the highpressure fuel pump is not provide the fuelrail with fuel.
Can also be the trigger or the cps if you have a newer engine. But they do also control the ignition so sounds more like a fuel pump trouble. Check that you get fuel up to the vapor/separator. If you get fuel to it i put my money on the highpressure fuel pump, clogged filter in the vapor. If you dont get fuel to the vapor either the pulse fuel pump or electrical pump can be the trouble or a stucked needle and pin in the vapor.

If you need any parts PM me.

I changed the high pressure fuel pump and read 36lbs at the regulator.

Ok.

Check the wires from the trigger located under the flywheel and stator.
my wires was all eaten up and i had the same problem as you. Result weak spark and no signal to the injektors.

hope that helps.. otherwise run a computer diagnostics then you see the problem at once.
