Getting right to it...ski sits outside but double covered through winter

1) Put freshly charged battery into ski this past Sunday (small compartment, big hands, PITA)
2) press SS button ONCE...get WELCOME message on display...ski has electric power
3) Install key....ski chirps twice, key is recognized
4) Press SS button......get absolutely nothing from the engine, no clicks.....dead silence
5) Display then shows ....Maintenance Required and a long beep

Thoughts????
1) Jumped solenoid posts....sparks but nothing from starter motor....
2) suspect DEAD starter motor?....last season ski had water in hull for periods until fixed properly...water infiltration into starter motor??? Corrosion on electric contacts

ALSO:
1) noticed coolant tank is empty....have read/seen posts regarding water pump gasket potentially bad? IDK.....will need to pull top deck and dig around in there
2) will change OIL while deck is off

Any other ideas, thoughts???? Let's hear'em. Thanks

Hello, Maintenance Required-

service time reset on jet ski. done every 100 hours. marked with diagnostics.

you definitely need to look at all the wiring. if there is corrosion, on the contacts.

sorry for my bad english, i'm using google translator

Just an update.....I tried to start the ski again just before I put it away for the winter 10/2022.....If I pressed the SS button in just the right spot, the ski would start.....looks like a flaky SS button is the problem.....perhaps.

Still planning on taking the top deck off this Spring, changing the oil, checking/changing the water pump gasket, checking all wiring and connections for corrosion, checking the starter motor for rust, corrosion, etc.....

PS...the ski doesn't even have 50 hours on it, since we bought it.....not used very often.
