2016 GTI SE 155 PREVIOS OWNER FRIED ECU WHAT DO I DO NOW?

I bought a 2016 GTI SE 155 for a great price due to the fact that he says I need a new ECU or MPEM for for it apparently he said he had to jumpstart it not knowing that it would ruin any chance to starting it again. Wondering what it could be the ECU, MPEM or do I a whole new cluster?

No mpem on newer skis. Most likely will need a new ECU.
