Good Afternoon,

I went riding last night and noticed that in sport mode I could only get my SKI up to 44 to 45 but I forgot to look at the RPM's but I was definitely pinning it. One other point that needs to be included is recently some of the dock rope that ties up my jet ski in the water got pulled into the intake. I immediately turned it off, brought the ski to the beach and turned it over and was able to take the rope out, it only got wrapped around the crank shaft about five times and easily came out, nothing got cut from the rope. Would this have definitely caused this issue with the speed or most likely?

My problem is I have no easy way to get the SKI from the lake to the dealer without paying someone to trailer it as it stays in the water all the time.

Any thoughts would be helpful.

Thanks,

Christopher

Knowing the RPMs would be helpful.

If you were reaching MAX RPMs, then it could easily be the wear ring.

Was there more water in the hull than normal? If so, could the carbon seal.

Did ou look into the grate area to see if you have a weed or debris in there?

So I am going to head up there tonight to test it out and take it out of the water and check everything out. My buddy was thinking the same as you with the ring. I know it wasn't the rope that got in there because it completely came up and wasn't tore up so maybe I picked something up after that whole thing happened. I will report back tonight. Originally also the dealer told me I needed to bring it in at 50 hours, but now another dealer said it should of been 25, are you aware of the specific service date?

50 hours is pretty normal across the board. However, the newer skis it is at 100 hours.

All they will do is change the oil. I took mine in when they were new at 50 hours and ASSUMED they did a good "look over" as well as change the oil and check hoses and torques and what not.

Nope !!! Just the oil was changed and they did not check torque or hoses...

i would also assume the dealer would do a good once over during the first service. gives me more incentive to do my own oil change.
