I have a pair of 2013 SeaDoo GTX155s (suspension models). I'm trying to change the oil but the filter is tucked away to the rear of the engine compartment. I can post pictures if necessary. I have a short ratchet with the proper torx socket but the working space is very limited. For those who have changed the oil on this model, do I need to remove the plastic engine cover (which also houses the coolant reservoir and air box) to get more access? or can the filer be removed without taking anything else off?

Thanks.

So I did a bit more research and ended up using an articulating stub ratchet to loosen the Torx screw on the top of the filter. No way a regular ratchet would fit. It was a complete pain in the butt to maneuver around the limited space and I had two skis to complete.. other forums said you’re supposed to remove the entire air box and plastic engine cover to gain filter access, but that would have been a nightmare. After loosening the filter cap I was able to wiggle the filter out.

WAY TO GO!!!,,,Yup..it is all coming back,,,i have a special short stubby that i used,,,make sure you tape any socket to the ratchet or extension,,,if it falls off,,,say goodbye,,,,i use that stubby on the sparks,,,
