Could the ski possibly be programmed for rental mode which will reduce the speed/horsepower ? Just a thought .. but you cant check that unless you have it hooked up to BUDS.

if it was in cruse mode it would not turn 7500 RPMs
if the wear ring is not blown out and he does not have a variable pitch prop
theres only one other area, (prop) something stuck in prop, wrong prop.

I am also tagging to keep informed. It will be interesting to see the answer.

Good luck to you, hope it is not too expensive for you..

If you can reach the bellows that holds the carbon ring against the stainless steel "washer" which is attached to the driveshaft, try to pull it backwards towards the stern (grasping the front of the bellows and pulling it backwards with all your might by hand!).... if you can pull that bellows backwards and open up a gap, then the bellows is not adjusted correctly and at higher speeds it's opening up and sucking air into the pump thru the carbon ring seal! It should be VERY hard to pull the bellows back if you can even do it by hand! If it's not tight agains the SS ring on the driveshaft, that's a problem right there.

That's my only thought on this one. Good luck and let us know what you find! It's NOT key or programming related though you are making good rpm's just not proper top speed a definite indicator of a pump problem!

Quick update. PWC is at dealer, re-calls have been applied (hood latch and timing chain) and they are just waiting for some warmer weather to ride. I'll keep everyone posted. Andy

Just got a call from the Dealer (Ingles Performance) and they found and fixed the issue. Turns out the impeller had bent blades. They replaced the impeller and validated 60 MPH top speed. Couldn’t be happier with Ingles for doing exactly what I asked, finding and fixing the issue. Can’t wait to pick it up and let it rip!

Thanks to everyone for you support and advice. Great site and great people! Jacks.
