2011 Seadoo Challenger 180 Summerization

I just bought a 2011 Challenger 180 with the 255HP motor. It was winterized by the dealer and I'm wondering what I need to do to get it ready for the summer.

It really depends on what was done as part of the winterization. I would talk to the dealer and find out exactly what items were done/completed as part of their winterization process.

If they did it correctly by the seadoo book, all you should need to do is put fresh gas in it, reconnect the battery and start it it up. I would probably replace the spark plugs after the first run out on the water. All the fogging oil gets burned up after the first start up and that can foul the plugs a bit, so it is best to replace spark plugs after the first run of the season. May also want to consider replacing the engine coolant if it has not been done in the last 2-3 years. It's and easy task to do yourself.

Another thing you should probably look into is the supercharger. It is 4 years old and this point and you need to know if it was rebuilt in the last 2 years. If the previous owner cannot provide hard proof it was done then you need to have this completed before you use the boat. Catastrophic engine failure can occur if superchargers are not properly maintained and rebuilt on a regular basis. Search the threads for supercharger and you will find a bunch of information on the topic.

Hey Canadianedge, I have a Poppy cover that will fit your 2011 Challenger 180 (I have a 2012). It has a small 3 inch tear that can be easily fixed.
