Recently got the ski back in the water this year and noticed it was down on power. I also noticed the smell of raw fuel in the exhaust. I did some investigating and found that the spark plug was wet (with fuel) on cylinder 1. Both other cylinder's spark plugs looked great. I swapped the coil packs between cylinder 1 and 2 and noted we were still down on power so I got some replacement coil packs, along with brand new plugs since these were likely original plugs (111h on this boat.) This did not address the issue and it continues to run on 2 cylinders only. I think the coil packs are all fine as I can swap them around and still cylinder 1 refuses to spark.

There are no codes displayed on the screen. I checked all fuses in the fuse block by the battery and they are all good and corrosion free. I checked the wiring going into the backside of the fuse block and it all seemed intact.
I checked the connections between the coil packs and the ECU and those seemed so well protected and the connections so well sealed that I can't imagine there being any issue, but I was thinking about maybe double checking the connectivity between the ECU and coil pack for cylinder 1.

At this point I'm thinking ECU has failed in some way that makes it not want to spark cylinder 1. I'm not sure if that's a failure mode that is possible.

Are there any other troubleshooting methods that could narrow down what has failed?

thanks for any help
John

I had Cyl2 stop sparking. It was the MPEM. Did you ever try to start it recently with a battery charger or running vehicle attached? Sure fire way to cook an MPEM.

Agree, think it might be the MPEM, but before that check all your fuses, I know on mine, I have a fuse for easch cylinder to safeguard the injectors.
