Hi I'm looking to buy my first seadoo after owning a boat for many years. I am between 2 3 seaters. 2010 gtx 215s and a 2009 gtx 255is. The 2009 has 150hrs on it and the 2010 has 40hrs on it. I will be on lake Huron so it can be a rough ride. It's only $1000 difference for the 2010 over the 2009. Thoughts on operating cost for the large engine vs the 215?

I LOVE the 255 in my RXT-X. 140 hrs is nothing if it has been maintained. The 4-tec engine cane easily get over 400-500 hrs. I've seen many at 800 hrs.

Both have the same concern about the SuperCharger. Basically the same ski. I'd buy the 09 as I like the 255. But there is nothing wrong with the 215. Just a personal preferance.

The engines are the same size. The iS suspension is appealing to some...the cost and aggravation of working on it another...heh.

Wouldn't buy w/o a ride, first.

There was a bad design with the early iS suspension that allowed the ski to sink. I was thinking it was the 2011, but if I had to guess, I bet it includes the 2010 as I don't think they made a change with the iS until 2012 or so.

I would not buy an iS ski personally as they are top heavy and more opportunity for things to fail. It is not just the iS.. By having the iS system, there are other items that work in conjunction with the system. Those that like it, seem to love it. Those that don't, seem to hate it...
