I have a problem with my gauges. The dess post was just replaced and previous owner said gauges were working. When i bought it it would not power up come to find out it was a bad relay. I can barely see the reading on the gauge but they are working. Is there anything other than them being bad that would cause this? New battery, fuses good. I didn't know if possibly any of the wiring that was messed with when he replaced dess post could cause this or if I'm just out of luck and have to buy a new display. Thanks

These gauges are LCD and when exposed to high heat and sunlight they tend to 'burn out'. The gauges on my two 2007 GTX's are barely readable and I am looking to replace these gauge. If you look online you can find several videos on how to replace the polarizing film as this is part that goes bad. It involves cutting the gauges out of their container and peeling and then replacing the polarizing film.

YouTube Replacement video. This video is not like my gauges but the concept is the same.

It's sunburnt and toasted, just happens when left out in the sun. Nobody is fixing that style of gauge. Others yes, that one, not yet. New gauge is less than $600 but will need to be flashed and married.
