2009 GTI vs GTI Rental

Hello and good day, I'm new to the forum and to the world of PWC. I recently purchased a 2009 SeaDoo GTI that I was told had previously been a rental. It was a good deal, especially for me testing the waters of owning a PWC. I thought it was a GTI that was used as a rental and didn't realize there was actually a model GTI Rental and a model GTI.

Now that I'm looking over manuals and part diagrams, I see there are two different models. Question I have is how to tell the two models apart? How do I tell if the PWC in my driveway is a GTI or GTI Rental?

And if anyone knows that answer, what's the difference between the two? I imagine I can compare parts lists but at this point it doesn't matter except for general knowledge, eh? I mean, I will need the parts for the one I own and it doesn't change anything if the other has better or lesser features. But I am curious.

I've searched the forum, Googled for hours, gone thru loads of model descriptions and I still haven't found the information. So any help, even if it's a good lead on where to look, will be appreciated.

Thanks

I think the only difference is the warranty, GTI rental is four months, GTI is for one year.

G'day Pat,
I'm no expert by all means, but I believe I've asked the same question and by memory I reckon I was told there isn't really any difference, meaning any part you get for say a gti rental will be basically the same as the GTI.

Thanks for the replies.
I've looked thru the parts diagrams again, and haven't found any difference between the two. But for Sea Doo to go thru the trouble of listing the rental as a separate model, they must make something different on them. If it's only the warranty and a difference in programming for the key, why spend the dollars listing it as a model? Just let the wholesalers list it as a special to the rental customers.
Thanks again

No worries pat, just maybe for the future.
If you have engine issues be sure to have a look at its ID plate.
My ski is a 08 I've had a couple issues looked at all the 08 models diagrams and was absolutely stumped, sportster done a bit of research which made me realise I've got a 09 engine... Difference between the 2 he found is they started using a NUT on the 09 model drive shafts.
Mine is a ex-rental

I found a difference. While reading through my service manual, the wear ring acceptable gap for NON-rentals is 0.35. For the rental the acceptable gap is 0.80

This would restrict the performance of the ski a bit. So,,, I think by design a rental would not come out of the hole as well as a non-rental ski.
