Hey all. This is my first post here so bear with me. I have a 2008 Sea-Doo RXT 215 with 92 hours. I bought it used this past march with only 50 hours on it. I have been riding it almost every weekend with no issues until today. I was cruising along at about 70mph and about 7800 rpms when all of a sudden the engine died. i had nothing on the display. i took the key out and put it back in and tried to restart it. i got nothing. not even a beep from the key being put on. i made several attempts at restarting it with no luck. had to get towed back to the dock. about 5 minutes into being towed, i tried once again to restart it, this time the display came on and the engine fired right up. I have never had an issues like this before. ive had it in for routine service twice according to the dealer recommendations. What could be the cause of this?

Sound like an electrical gremlin to me. Check all your harness plugs and fuse box to make sure there's no corrosion or any signs of water damage. Also check your battery connections to make sure they are tight. I had something similar happen to me years ago on a '97 GSX that quit under full throttle when I hit a wake and went completely dead. Turns out a loose ground caused it.

ill check it out in the morning. its just strange because it was only 1-2 ft chop. i didnt hit any waves that were abnormal.

I know what you mean. Same thing happened to me back then. I went over the wake of a aluminum fishing boat on a otherwise glass lake and it just flat out quit.

Check your battery connections, ground connections, and positive connection at the hot side of the solenoid.

Thanks for the help guys. everything looked fine this morning when i was checking everything. I took it out for another ride this afternoon and didnt have any issues. I just hope it doesnt happen when im in the middle of Tampa bay or out in the gulf.
