The wife's 07 wake will not go over 3300rpm and has a vibration when you get close to that rpm. It idles fine with no noise or vibrations. She tells me now that when we rode last week, the ski felt like it had less power than the previous week. I suspect its the supercharger , since to my knowledge ,has never been rebuilt with a 176 hours on it. Any advice is much appreciated. Thanks.

Well. If it is, you may have serious issues. The 07 had Ceramic Washers. They no longer use this style as, they fail and break apart and fall into the engine. When this happens, the ceramic parts can cause SERIOUS damage to the engine.

Remove the hose going to the SC. If you can easily spin the SC with your fingers, it is toast. This site does full rebuild for $495 and pretty much one day service the last time I looked.

If he carts mic is in your engine, you pretty much have to pull the motor to clean it all out.

2004 to 2007 (and some early 08) had the ceramic washers.

I took the hose off and the SC impeller has maybe a 1/16 of an inch of play . I used a bore scope and the impeller looks good. Does this indicate the SC is still good ?

Can you spin it with your fingers? You should be able to due to how it is built. It will turn HARD if all is good.

If it spins hard, take a good look at the hoses and hose clamps. If there is a crack or a loose clamp it will act exactly like a bad SC.

All this said,,, being an 07, it NEEDS rebuilt even if it is good. The 07 has the ceramic washers and they are engine killers...

Found the problem. There was a rock jammed in the impeller. Looks like it did some damage to the wear ring and impeller shows some wear. Looks like we'll be replacing it and while we're at it, get the SC rebuilt. Thanks for all the advice Coastie.

I am shocked the rock limited the RPMs. Normally, when something is in the impeller you will get HIGH RPMs but poor performance..
