I took my extinguisher from my old ski that went in the front bucket tubes -- the oly way I seem to get it to fit in the rxp is loading it in the tube trigger first so all I see is the bottom of it when I screw the cap on -- this doen not seem right

Trigger type?....

I think you might be using the wrong kind. The ones we use for these tubes have the trigger assembly all within the diameter of the bottle. So, I don't see why it would only fit in one direction.

Go to your local Walmart, they carry the PWC extinguisher that fits your tube. I just bought one this past year. They are pretty cheap, I think I paid $12 bucks for it.

I do remember seeing two different kinds. The one with the trigger, that had a finger ring was the same size in diameter of the body but the trigger stuck out. The other one, the one I'm talking about, had the trigger assembly that was mounted within the diameter of the body of the extinguisher so it would just slide right inside the tube........

To expensive...

If this link works, here is a pix of the one you should be using. It fits right inside the tube, face up. http://www.westmarine.com/webapp/wc...nc=high_res.jsp&image=126219.jpg&desc=Mariner Dry Chemical Fire Extinguishers (in the pix, labeled PWC and has the red cap).

I believe it was $14 bucks. If the link above doesn't work, go to this link, it's their home page and once it opens, use their search engine for PWC fire extinguisher. It will open a link to several. The one you want has a read cap. http://www.westmarine.com/webapp/wc...oreId=10001&langId=-1&catalogId=10001:cheers:

Thats the one I have -- Do I insert the red cap end into the tube first(thats they way I can get it to work now) or do I insert the bottom first?

Red one....?

No, if you have that extinguisher with the red cap pictured with that post above, it should fit right in, bottom first. If you notice, the diameter is the same all the way around, so nothing should hold it from fiting from the top or the bottom.
