Anyone having problems with Faria depth finder?

My Faria factory installed depthfinder kept reading UN. I changed out the unit (not the thru hull transducer) and now ot continually reads 3. feet. The 10ths decimal number changes and that is it. Any ideas? I would change out the transducer but not sure how I
would reach it with engines in the way.
