Okay call me stupid but before I start digging in where is actual motor located?

It's behind the engine. In front of the jet pump on the inside of the hull. Right behind and above the carbon seal driveshaft. It's like oval black box that says vts. To take it out you need too loosen the nut in the back jetpump area. It's like a big plastic nut.

If you need a vts unit I have one from my 2006 rxp when I parted it out. $150 plus shipping

how did you remove the sealing washer nut my book says use a Sea Doo Part Number #295 000 133 kind of hard to fing looks like a really deep well socket
